Disaster preparedness and disaster response planning is our primary mission. Through annual programs, training, and community outreach and education, we ensure that St. John remains prepared to face a variety of hazards.

Resilient Housing Initiative (RHI)

The Resilient Housing Initiative (RHI) is the longest running home rebuild program on St. John since the hurricanes of 2017. This program focuses on rebuilds for full time residents with priority given to seniors, families with young children and infants, and residents with a disability or chronic health condition.

COVID-19 Response

We made every effort to react as quickly as possible to the pandemic’s impact on St. John, creating several short-term programs to address community needs. Providing the community and first responders with PPE, feeding seniors and families, disseminating information, and supporting mass-vaccinations have been among our efforts to respond to this unprecedented challenge.
